‘RRR’ And ‘Chello Show’ Shortlisted For Oscars, This Pakistani Film Also Got Entry

95th Academy Awards:  It is a matter of great pride for Indian cinema that two films have been shortlisted for Oscars 2022. In these, apart from SS Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’, there is Gujarati film ‘Chello Show’ i.e. ‘Last Film Show’. Rajamouli had worked hard to get his film an entry in the Oscars. The film created a lot of panic in the country and abroad when it was released. It was sent for nomination in Oscar’s ‘Best Feature Film’ category, but for some reason it was not selected then. After this, the makers started a campaign regarding the film and RRR was submitted for nomination in 14 categories.

‘Chello Show’ And RRR Shortlisted For Oscars

Now finally RRR has been selected for the 95th Academy Awards. The shortlist for the 10 categories of the Oscars was announced on Wednesday. These include documentaries and international features, documentary short subjects and original scores. The good news is that ‘Chello  Show’ (The Last Film Show), which was India’s official entry to the Oscars, has been included in the ‘International Feature Film’ category. On the other hand, ‘RRR’ has made a place for itself in the ‘Music (Original Song)’ category for ‘Naatu Naatu’.

RRR Makers Submitted Nominations In 14 Categories

It is known that the 14 categories in which the makers of ‘RRR’ submitted the film include Screenplay, Score, Editing, Sound, Best Supporting Actor, Best Director and Editing.

Apart From ‘The Chello Show’ In ‘Best International Feature Film’, These Films

Other films that have been shortlisted in the ‘Best International Feature Film’ category include Argentina 1985, The Quiet Girl and ‘The Blue Kaftan’. This time there is another special thing in Oscars. This is the first time that a film from Pakistan has got an entry in the Academy Awards. Pakistani film ‘Joyland’ has also been included in the ‘Best International Feature Film’ category.

‘Avatar 2’ Song Also Nominated In Best Song Category In Oscars

At the same time, apart from ‘Natu Natu’, 15 more songs have been selected in the ‘Best Song Category’. These include the song ‘Nothing is Lost’ from ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ and ‘Lift Me Up’ from ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’. Now voting for various categories of Oscar Awards will be held from January 12 to January 17, 2023. And the list of nominations will be announced on January 24. These awards will be held on March 12 at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood.
