Actor Rajpal Yadav has addressed the controversy surrounding his alleged humiliation at a recent awards event. He clarified that the moment was scripted and part of a staged performance.
The actor, who is preparing for the release of his upcoming film Bhooth Bangla, shared a video on Instagram to explain the situation.
He urged his followers not to criticise show hosts Saurabh Dwivedi and Zakir Khan, who had made remarks during the ceremony.
Yadav stated that he felt honoured to attend the Screen Awards and interact with members of the film fraternity.
Rajpal Yadav described the evening as lively, with performances, dance acts, and skits. He explained that the segment involving him, Saurabh Dwivedi, and Zakir Khan aimed to highlight global issues.
It focused on conflicts and their economic impact on ordinary people.
Rajpal Yadav emphasised that such misunderstandings often occur in cinema and stage acts, where the intended message may not reach audiences clearly.
Yadav reaffirmed that Dwivedi and Khan share a close bond with him and have always treated him with respect.
The actor added that Dwivedi even encouraged the audience to applaud his work, which he deeply appreciated. He reiterated his affection for both hosts and appealed to fans to refrain from negative remarks.
Yadav concluded by expressing gratitude towards his supporters, stating that their love sustains his career and public presence.
