The 69th National Film Awards held special significance for the film “Mimi” and its talented cast. Notably, Kriti Sanon received the Best Actress award, sharing the honor with Alia Bhatt, while Pankaj Tripathi was recognized as the Best Supporting Actor for his outstanding performance in the 2021 film.

Pankaj Tripathi, who had previously received his first National Award for the film “Newton” in 2017, shared his joy on Saturday, posting a series of photos from the prestigious event. The first image captured him receiving his award from President Droupadi Murmu, with his wife Mridula Tripathi and daughter Aashi Tripathi sitting beside him. The photo series concluded with a heartwarming family selfie. In the caption, Pankaj Tripathi borrowed lines from poet Ramdarash Mishra and wrote in Hindi, expressing his gratitude.

On his remarkable win, Pankaj Tripathi conveyed his happiness and humility to news agency PTI, emphasizing the significance of perseverance and honesty in one’s work. He also marked the completion of 20 years in Mumbai and expressed his gratitude towards the viewers, directors, especially Laxman Utekar (the director of “Mimi”), and the jury for selecting him for the award.

Pankaj Tripathi further extended his appreciation to his fans, acknowledging the love and support he has received from the audience. He recounted how people approached him at the awards ceremony and shared that his win felt like a personal achievement for them, which touched him deeply. He also dedicated this award to his late father, who passed away in August.

When the National Awards were initially announced, Kriti Sanon celebrated her co-star Pankaj Tripathi with a heartfelt post on her Instagram stories. She shared a behind-the-scenes picture from the sets of “Mimi,” featuring both actors beaming with smiles. Kriti conveyed her congratulations to Pankaj Tripathi and expressed that his father would be immensely proud of his achievements.

“Mimi” not only boasts the exceptional talents of Kriti Sanon and Pankaj Tripathi but also features prominent roles for Supriya Pathak and Jaya Bhattacharya, adding to the film’s acclaim and success.
