Oscar Invites Karan Johar & ‘RRR’ Stars Ram Charan, Jr NTR To Join Hollywood’s Film Academy

Filmmakers Karan Johar and Mani Ratnam, RRR actors Ram Charan and Jr. NTR, producer Siddharth Roy Kapur, and 398 other creators and executives have been invited to join the Academy of Motion Arts and Sciences. However, Oscar invites the RRR star cast and Karan Johar to join Hollowood’s film academy.

Ram Charan and Jr. NTR’s RRR, one of the invited artists, had already won an Oscar in the ‘Best Original Song’ category in March of this year. In addition, Ke Huy Quan won an Academy Award for Everything Everywhere At Once as a supporting performer.

The Academy is pleased to welcome these artists and professionals as members, as stated on the official website by Academy CEO Bill Kramer and Academy President Janet Yang. They have had a significant influence on the arts and sciences of motion pictures around the world. They represent remarkable global talent across cinematic disciplines.

How are these members chosen?

According to Oscar’s official website, candidates for membership are chosen based on their professional experience and continued dedication to inclusion, equity, and representation.

If all those invited accept, there will be 10,817 members altogether, up from 10,655 the previous year.

Performances to be performed by the artist

The upcoming 96th Academy Awards will feature these performers. Taylor Swift, an American singer, Austin Butler, Keke Palmer, and Ke Huy Kuan are also invited.

A Variety report said that the class of 2023 is made up of 52 percent of people from nations and territories outside the United States, 40 percent of women, and 34 percent of members of ethnic and racial communities.

Members at the Oscars in 2022

In total, 397 people were invited to become new members of the Oscars in 2022. Billie Eilish, an accomplished singer; Ariana DeBose, an Academy Award winner. The great actors Caitriona Balfe and Jamie Dornan from the movie “Belfast” were all invited. A second invitation was sent to Dana Walden, a respected Disney executive.

The 96th Academy Awards will be presented at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on March 10, 2024.
