Notice Movie Review: Arun Govil, Deepika Chikhlia Reunite After 39 Years

Arun Govil and Deepika Chikhlia reunite after nearly 39 years in Notice, a social drama released on Waves OTT on November 6, 2026. Directed by Pradeep Gupta, the film explores an elderly man’s struggle against the government system to save his 150-year-old ancestral shop.

The story revolves around Narayan Gupta (Arun Govil), an honest and self-respecting elderly man whose ancestral shop represents his family’s heritage, memories and dignity. His life takes an unexpected turn when a government department issues a notice asking him to vacate the property before its demolition.

What begins as an official action in the name of development soon becomes a difficult battle between an ordinary citizen and a powerful system. Narayan and his wife approach government offices and courts in an attempt to protect their family legacy.

Arun Govil And Deepika Reunite

The biggest highlight is the reunion of Arun Govil and Deepika Chikhlia after nearly four decades. Govil convincingly portrays an elderly man who struggles against the system without compromising his self-respect. Deepika brings warmth and sensitivity to the role of his wife. Their on-screen chemistry adds emotional depth to the story.

Pankaj Jha, known for Panchayat, delivers a powerful performance. He effectively portrays the influential and rigid face of the system.

Direction And Music

Director Pradeep Gupta attempts to present the struggles of an ordinary middle-class family through a realistic small-town setting. The film’s music strengthens its emotional narrative. Kailash Kher’s ‘Ram Awadh Mein Aaye’ adds depth to an important sequence, while ‘Na Ragda Na Raub’ brings a folk touch. The background score further supports the storytelling.

Strengths And Weaknesses

The film’s strongest elements are its relevant social theme, meaningful dialogues and the performances of its lead actors. However, its slow pace may test the patience of viewers who prefer fast-paced entertainment and continuous twists.

Should You Watch It?

Notice is worth considering if you enjoy socially relevant cinema that highlights the struggles of ordinary people against powerful institutions. Arun Govil and Deepika Chikhlia’s reunion makes it more special. Overall, the film delivers an emotional story about dignity, family heritage and the fight for justice.
