Neetu Kapoor Remembers Engagement To Rishi Kapoor With A Heartfelt Tribute

Veteran actress Neetu Kapoor fondly celebrated April 13, remembering it as the day she got engaged to the late Rishi Kapoor in 1979.

In a touching tribute shared on her Instagram stories, Neetu posted a black-and-white throwback photo of the couple smiling together, evoking memories of a cherished chapter in her life.

The monochrome image, elegant and intimate, captures a youthful Neetu alongside Rishi Kapoor, both beaming with happiness.

Captioning the photo, she wrote, “Was engaged on this day in 1979 time flies,”  a brief yet powerful message that resonated with fans who remember the legendary Bollywood pair with affection.

Keeping Memories Alive

Neetu Kapoor has been consistent in keeping Rishi Kapoor’s legacy alive through social media posts and public appearances.

Known for her strength and grace, she often shares glimpses of their life together, reminding followers of the deep bond they shared.

The couple, who appeared in several films together, were among the most admired pairs both on-screen and off.

Earlier, Neetu had celebrated 45 years of the iconic film Karz, starring Rishi Kapoor and Tina Munim.

In a heartfelt Instagram video, she wrote, “Some memories get even better with time. The Karz reunion was beautiful and evoked so many special moments from such a beautiful chapter of my life.”

Emotional Moments At The Red Lorry Film Festival

Filmmaker Subhash Ghai also paid tribute to Rishi Kapoor during the 45th-anniversary celebration of Karz at the Red Lorry Film Festival.

Sharing a photo of Neetu Kapoor receiving a commemorative trophy on behalf of her late husband, Ghai wrote, “When Neetu Rishi Kapoor paid her tribute to her husband Rishi Kapoor looking up to God. It was really an emotional moment for all of us.”

The tribute underscored the deep respect the film fraternity continues to hold for Rishi Kapoor, known not just for his exceptional performances but also for his vibrant personality and dedication to the craft.

Rishi Kapoor passed away on April 30, 2020, after a prolonged battle with leukemia.

Doctors diagnosed him in 2018, treated him in New York, and declared him cancer-free before he returned to Mumbai.

Sadly, his health declined again in 2020, and he breathed his last at the age of 67.

Neetu Kapoor’s posts continue to serve as a living memory of their journey together, full of love, resilience, and cinematic legacy that lives on in the hearts of millions.
