Bollywood actress Kiara Advani made a radiant and symbolic debut at the 2025 MET Gala, unveiling her baby bump in a powerful creation by celebrated Indian designer Gaurav Gupta.
The annual fashion spectacle, held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, embraced the theme ‘Superfine: Tailoring Black Style’.
Advani wore a striking couture piece titled ‘Bravehearts’, custom-designed by Gupta.
The ensemble featured a sculpted gold breastplate shaped into two interlinked hearts one representing the mother, the other the unborn child, joined by an abstract umbilical cord.
A flowing white cape added dramatic elegance, drawing inspiration from André Leon Talley’s iconic 2010 MET Gala look.
The actress shared a series of photographs on Instagram, captioning the moment: “Mama’s first Monday in May.”
Kiara’s husband, actor Sidharth Malhotra, expressed his admiration on social media.
Reposting the images to his Instagram stories, he wrote: “❤️ Both Brave Hearts,” clearly moved by both the design and the moment it captured.

Designer Gaurav Gupta elaborated on the creative intent behind the look, stating that ‘Bravehearts’ is a tribute to ‘defiance, legacy, and new beginnings’.
He linked the design to the historical spirit of the Black Dandy a symbol of individuality, grace, and cultural defiance.
“In the context of Kiara’s pregnancy,” Gupta explained, “The piece takes on a deeper meaning, representing how identity is both inherited and reimagined across generations. The sculpted hearts and the cape speak to protection and connection — an armour and an offering in one.”
This debut marks another milestone for Gupta, who has steadily built a global clientele.
He previously dressed actress Alia Bhatt for her Paris Fashion Week debut and continues to outfit an impressive roster of international celebrities, including Beyoncé, Shakira, Jenna Ortega, Bebe Rexha, Sharon Stone, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, among others.
The MET Gala, often referred to as ‘fashion’s biggest night’, brings together fashion, art, and identity.
This year’s theme, ‘Superfine: Tailoring Black Style’, however, explores the refinement and cultural impact of Black fashion traditions.
Kiara’s look, while deeply personal, aligned seamlessly with the broader narrative of heritage, defiance, and transformation.
