Kevin Spacey, the famous Hollywood actor, has publicly spoken about the impact of the controversies about him on his career.
Kevin, in an interview held in the Italian Global Series Festival (IGSF) in Rimini, Italy, spoke about the controversies and their impact on his professional life.
The two-time Academy Award-winning Actor stated that he was ‘incredibly excited about going back to work in a substantial way’, reports ‘People’ magazine.
People’s magazine also added that Kevin Spacey reflected on the impact that his past legal troubles have had on his career.
“In 2017, Netflix fired Kevin Spacey from the series ‘House of Cards’ following allegations of sexual assault, which Spacey denied.”
“According to People magazine, a New York court cleared Kevin Spacey of sexual abuse charges in 2022, and a London court also dismissed sexual assault claims brought against him in 2023.”
Kevin Spacey, in an interview with Italian Global Series Festival’s Artistic Director Marco Spagnoli, said, “These experiences have allowed me to stop, assess, reassess and listen, and be very grateful for the work I’m able to do both on screen and off screen”.
Not only about haters, but Kevin Spacey also noted the support that he received from the Hollywood industry during the midst of his legal troubles.
Kevin said, “I deeply appreciate the people in my industry who stood by me and waited for the court’s decision before forming their opinions about me.”
Further, he added, “Those people have my trust, and I will do everything I can to maintain their trust for the rest of my life”.
Several Hollywood stars, including Sharon Stone, Liam Neeson and Brian Cox, have spoken out in support of Kevin Spacey returning to the movie business.
Kevin Spacey added more about his critics, saying, “who rushed to judgment and decided I was guilty, and treated me accordingly”.
“They have my forgiveness, but I am not seeking them out to collaborate”, the actor added.
Since being removed of the charges, Spacey was seen in a few projects, including Control and Peter Five Eight.
The actor also appeared in 2024’s The Contract.
