It’s not a drill, this. Vijay plays the lead in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Leo, which is soaring at the box office worldwide. According to Variety, the movie has even eclipsed Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon, which starred Leonardo DiCaprio. Variety reports that after four days, the movie had made $48.5 million, while Killers of the Flower Moon had made $44 million. “In terms of worldwide cumulative sales among new releases, Leo scored $48.5 million (after four days) compared with the $44 million earned by Killers of the Flower Moon,” according to a report by Variety.
“Prathayangira Cinemas released Leo in the US, where it made $2.1 million in its first weekend of sales. It was distributed by Ahimsa Entertainment in the United Kingdom and Ireland, where it earned £1.07 million ($1.3 million) in its first three days of sales, according to the Variety article.
Leo stars Arjun Sarja, Madonna Sebastian, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mysskin, Mansoor Ali Khan, George Maryan, Priya Anand, Mathew Thomas, Sanjay Dutt, and Trisha, in addition to Vijay. With the 2021 release of Master, this is Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s second joint venture.
