Dharmendra expresses opinion on Hollywood work: “My best belongs in my homeland”

In a previous interview, actor Dharmendra discussed his experience working in Hollywood and contrasted it with India. Dharmendra stated that he has “never looked worth it” to work in “the West” in a 2017 interview with Hindustan Times. He talked about the affection he experienced in India as well. We take you back to the actor’s interview with us as he approaches his 88th birthday.

Dharmendra’s remarks regarding his employment in Hollywood, India

“Everyone tries to make it big in the West, but it has never looked worth it to me,” Dharmendra had once observed. With your people, you are the finest in your house and your country. In India, you are the most cherished individual.”

Additionally, he has stated, “You are unlikely to find the same level of love from people anywhere else.” If you are lucky enough to become well-known, you become lost in the spotlight. Nowhere can your job be as great as it can be when you reside with your own people in your own country.

Dharmendra’s professional background

Midway through the 1960s, Dharmendra became well-known thanks to roles in movies like Aayee Din Bahar Ke, Phool Aur Patthar, Kaajal, and Ayee Milan Ki Bela. He was praised for his roles in the movies Sholay, Pratiggya, Charas, Dharam Veer, Chacha Bhatija, Ram Balram, Seeta Aur Geeta, Samadhi, Yaadon Ki Baaraat, Sharafat, and Kaatilon Ke Kaatil.

He has acted in movies such Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya, Life in a Metro, Apne, Johnny Gaddaar, and Yamla Pagla Deewana since the late 1990s. Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, directed by Karan Johar, featured him most recently. Aamir Bashir, Tota Roy Chowdhury, Alia Bhatt, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, Ranveer Singh, and Churni Ganguly were among the other actors who starred in the movie.

Upcoming movies starring Dharmendra

Enthusiasts can catch him in the yet-to-be-titled love picture starring Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon. He’ll also be seen in Ikkis, a battle drama. In the movie, Dharmendra will appear alongside Agastya Nanda, the grandson of Amitabh Bachchan.

The combat drama Ikkis is said to be based on Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal’s life. He received the Param Vir Chakra posthumously in recognition of his outstanding national service. The film, which stars Sriram Raghavan, does not yet have a release date.
