Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh had a significant encounter with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, where he celebrated the cultural impact of his ongoing ‘Dil-Luminati’ tour.
The meeting took place amid rehearsals for his highly anticipated sold-out stadium show.
Taking to X, Diljit Dosanjh posted, “Diversity is 🇨🇦‘s strength. Prime Minister @JustinTrudeau came to check out history in the making: we sold out the Rogers Centre!”
Earlier, Prime Minister Trudeau praised Diljit for his remarkable cultural and economic contributions, highlighting the success of his sold-out performances across Canada.
Taking to X, Prime Minister Trudeau posted, “Stopped by the Rogers Centre to wish @diljitdosanjh good luck before his show. Canada is a great country — one where a guy from Punjab can make history and sell out stadiums. Diversity isn’t just our strength. It’s a super power.”
Diljit kicked off his tour with a sold-out concert at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver and wrapped it up with another sold-out show at Rogers Centre, becoming the first Indian artist to achieve consecutive sold-out performances throughout the tour.
Expressing his gratitude, Diljit in a statement stated, “I am deeply honored and humbled by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s recognition. The overwhelming support from the community here is truly heartwarming.”
He further emphasized that the tour has been a celebration of cultural heritage and thanked everyone who contributed to its success.
This meeting is a noteworthy highlight in Diljit’s groundbreaking tour, which also included a live performance invitation on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.”
