Awarapan 2 vs Bantwara 1947: Emraan Hashmi’s Film Leads Sunny Deol’s Movie At Box Office

Two films, Awarapan 2 and Bantwara 1947, are currently running in theatres and have received a mixed response from audiences.

Before their release, Sunny Deol-starrer Bantwara 1947 appeared to have the upper hand, but the box office picture changed after the films hit theatres.

Emraan Hashmi’s Awarapan 2 emerged ahead, recording a strong opening weekend and benefiting from nostalgia among fans.

Awarapan 2 opened with a double-digit collection on its release day, giving Emraan Hashmi the best opening of his career.

The film recorded its biggest jump on Saturday and became a hit within two days based on its box office performance.

Collections weakened on Sunday and fell sharply on Monday.

According to Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 9.25 crore net on its fourth day, registering a decline of around 65% due to the working day.

Its total net collection has now reached Rs 91 crore, while its worldwide gross collection stands at Rs 130 crore.

Despite around 10,000 shows, the Monday performance was weaker than expected.

Bantwara 1947 has continued to underperform in comparison.

The Sunny Deol-starrer collected around Rs 26 crore net during its opening weekend and faced a steep Monday decline.

The film earned only Rs 2 crore net on its fourth day, with collections falling by up to 72%. Its total net collection now stands at Rs 28.50 crore.

Both films have started showing weakness on the fourth day of their opening week, with the working-day factor contributing to Monday’s decline.

The sharp fall in Awarapan 2’s collections could disappoint Emraan Hashmi’s fans despite its strong opening.
