Animal collection
Ranbir Kapoor’s film “Animal” continues its impressive run at the Indian box office, showing no signs of slowing down on its ninth day. According to Sacnilk, the movie has amassed ₹37 crore across languages, bringing its total collection to ₹398.53 crore. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film, known for its 3+ hour runtime, features a stellar cast including Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Triptii Dimri. Besides Ranbir’s action-packed role, fans are captivated by Bobby Deol’s portrayal of the antagonist.
Released on December 1, “Animal” faced a box office clash with Vicky Kaushal’s “Sam Bahadur.” Trade analyst Taran Adarsh hailed the film’s performance in its first week as “extraordinary,” declaring it the third biggest 7-day total of all time. He highlighted its achievements as the highest-grossing ‘A’-certified film and the biggest 7-day total for a non-holiday release, despite competition with another film.
While some critics find “Animal” disturbing and offensive due to its perceived misogyny, toxic masculinity, and mindless violence, satisfied filmgoers outnumber the dissenting voices. Ranbir Kapoor, portraying a reckless character with daddy issues, showcases his exceptional acting prowess, reaffirming his status as one of the most gifted star actors of his generation.
Despite the film’s visible shortcomings, Kapoor’s near-flawless performance holds “Animal” together, making it a big-screen experience that is challenging to digest but impossible to ignore. In summary, the film, though considered problematic by some, has resonated with the average moviegoer.
