Animal Box Office: Ranbir Kapoor’s Film Roars to Grand Opening with ₹61 Crore on Day 1

Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s latest film, “Animal,” featuring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role, had an impressive debut at the box office. The movie, which hit theaters on Friday, faced competition from Meghna Gulzar’s “Sam Bahadur.” According to Sacnilk, “Animal” raked in a staggering ₹61 crore on its opening day across all languages.

Breaking down the numbers, the Hindi version accounted for over ₹50.50 crore, while the Telugu version contributed ₹10 crore. The film achieved an overall 62.47% Hindi occupancy on Friday, as reported by Sacnilk.

Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh highlighted the film’s outstanding performance on Indian theater screens in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Despite its robust box office numbers, “Animal” received mixed reviews from critics. Overall the film received 4 stars out of 5, stating that while Ranbir Kapoor delivered a powerful performance supported by Anil Kapoor, the film’s questionable means and instincts made it challenging to appreciate the stars’ efforts.

Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, known for “Arjun Reddy,” the star-studded cast of “Animal” includes Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Triptii Dimrii in significant roles. The film faced off against Vicky Kaushal’s “Sam Bahadur” at the box office.
