Adipurush Pre-Sells 1.50 Lakh Weekend Tickets, Prabhas Starrer Set for Spectacular Opening

Three days before its scheduled release, Om Raut’s Adipurush, starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan, is experiencing a strong reaction in advance bookings. By Tuesday at midday, the most ambitious Ramayana-based movie, produced by Bhushan Kumar, has sold roughly 1.13 lakh Hindi-language tickets in national chains for the opening weekend, with 62,000 of those tickets sold on the first day. The total number of tickets, including those from non-national chains, is close to 1.5 lakh. These figures suggest that, if the current pace is maintained, the Hindi version of Adipurush’s opening would reach or exceed Rs 20 crores.

Adipurush aims to sell 1L+ tickets at national chains today

With 90,000 tickets sold over the course of the weekend for Adipurush (in Hindi), PVR and Inox are out in front, followed by Cinepolis with about 23,000 tickets. Adipurush has sold 49,000 seats in PVR and Inox and 13,000 in Cinepolis on the opening day. The figures for the Om Raut-directed film are impressive, and it aims to surpass the milestone of selling 1 lakh tickets in Hindi to reach its total for the day in national chains.

Adipurush has already sold nearly 1.7 lakh tickets in just three chains for the weekend, with Hyderabad, Prabhas’ stronghold, still closed. We expect the sales to continue rising in the remaining three days, and the movie’s success will ultimately depend on how viewers receive it when it opens on June 16th, 2023.

Theatrical recoveries crucial for Adipurush’s success

Adipurush has a budget of close to Rs 500 crores, hence a successful theatrical run is crucial to the success of the picture. Although non-theatrical revenues have guaranteed solid recoveries, Adipurush’s ability to turn a profit will ultimately depend on its performance in the theatre market Over the course of 8 weeks, Adipurush won’t have any substantial theatrical opposition outside a few Hollywood and Bollywood heavyweights. A well-received movie will create a massive smash in the Indian film industry. From June 16th, 2023, you can watch Adipurush in a theatre near you by purchasing tickets online or offline.
