Nepal Banned Screening Of Hindi Films Due To Adipurush Controversy
Adipurush has joined the $300 million club globally despite receiving criticism. According to a statement from the movie’s team, Adipurush has so far earned 340 crores in box office revenue worldwide. Om Raut is the director of Adipurush, a reworking of the mythological epic Ramayana.
The film was released in theatres last week in Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Tamil. On Instagram on Monday, actress Kriti Sanon shared a poster for the film. It read, “Worldwide three-day box-office gross 340 crores (gross box office collection) global box office Adipurush.” Sharing the update, Kriti wrote, “Jai Shri Ram (Hail Lord Ram) #Adipurush.”
On Monday, Sacnilk.com reported that early estimates indicated that the Hindi version of Adipurush brought in 38.5 crores. According to the estimate, the total three-day collections across all languages were about 216 crores, with a total of 64 crores on day three.
More about the film
Saif Ali Khan plays Lankesh (Raavan), Kriti Sanon plays Janaki (Sita), and Prabhas plays Raghav (Ram). It is produced by T-Series’ Bhushan Kumar. The bilingual performance has drawn criticism for using slang. Many people from all throughout the nation, including critics and reviewers, have voiced their dissatisfaction with some dialogue in the movie. Marega Bete, Bua Ka Bagicha Hain Kya, and Jalegi Tere Baap Ki are a few examples.
A statement issued by T-Series read, “The makers are revisiting the said dialogues, ensuring they resonate with the core essence of the film, and the same will reflect in the theatres in the next few days. This decision is a testament that in spite of unstoppable collections at the box office, the team is committed and nothing is beyond the sentiments of their audiences and harmony at large.”
