Adarsh Gourav has joined the cast of the ‘Alien’ prequel series, which will be produced by veteran Hollywood director Ridley Scott.
The actor’s representative stated in a press release on Tuesday that the series marks a significant milestone as the ‘Alien’ franchise dives into episodic storytelling for the first time.
Gourav rose to prominence following his BAFTA-nominated role in the 2021 film ‘The White Tiger’. He has also appeared in the climate change series ‘Extrapolations’ on Apple TV+.
The Indian actor features in the ‘Alien’ series alongside Sydney Chandler, Kit Young, Alex Lawther, Samuel Blenkin, and Essie Davis.
The showrunner is set to be Noah Hawley. Produced by 20th Television and Scott Free Productions, the series will be aired on FX on Hulu.
Scott directed the first ‘Alien film in 1979, which was followed by three sequels: ‘Aliens’ (1986), ‘Alien 3’ (1992), ‘Alien Resurrection’ (1997), directed by James Cameron, David Fincher, and Jean-Pierre Jeunet, respectively. Sigourney Weaver starred in all of the films.
Scott has also directed two prequels, ‘Prometheus’ (2012) and ‘Alien: Covenant’ (2017), both of which star English actor Michael Fassbender.
The Netflix series ‘Guns & Gulaabs’ was Adarsh Gourav’s most recent release in India. The actor will be seen in the flicks ‘Superman of Malegaon’ and ‘Kho Gaye Hum Kahan’.
