SpiceJet Ends Direct Flights Between Hyderabad-Ayodhya

SpiceJet, the no-frills carrier launched by Ajay Singh has halted direct flights from Hyderabad to Ayodhya less than two months after its launch, claiming a lack of demand.

The Gurugram-based airline began nonstop flights three times a week between Hyderabad and Ayodhya in early April of this year.

“SpiceJet has discontinued its direct flights services to Ayodhya from Hyderabad from June 1”, a source at the GMR Group-operated Hyderabad International Airport confirmed.

The airline provided these flights to the temple town three times per week from Telangana’s capital.

In a statement, SpiceJet spokesperson stated, “Flight schedule is driven solely by commercial considerations and demand”.

“(But) we are still operating the services to Chennai from Ayodhya”, the spokesperson continued.
