SAP India: Driving Scale, Innovation & Sovereign Cloud Solutions

Manish Prasad, president and managing director of SAP India, reaffirmed that India remains one of the company’s largest and fastest-growing markets globally.

“The beauty of India is scale, size, and agility,” Prasad said, underscoring the country’s expanding consumption base and dynamic market environment.

According to him, Indian customers increasingly seek technology solutions that not only accelerate growth but also open doors to new markets.

He stressed the importance of platform readiness for successful market entry, reflecting the evolving needs of businesses aiming for rapid expansion.

Despite potential short-term indirect effects of tariffs on India’s information technology and services sector, Prasad remains confident that the nation’s overall growth trajectory will remain strong.

“We keep saying that we are a very resilient economy. When 65–70 per cent of what India produces gets consumed within the country itself, and there is more appetite, I think we are in a great place,” he noted.

Enhancing Efficiency Through Advanced Solutions

SAP India offers solutions that help clients monitor crucial parameters such as compliance in new markets, quality assurance, and optimisation of operational processes.

These tools empower businesses to improve efficiency while maintaining high standards, which is critical in competitive environments.

In August, SAP India inaugurated its second-largest research and development facility globally in Bengaluru.

SAP India designed this new campus to house nearly 15,000 professionals, fostering innovation in product engineering, support services, and artificial intelligence.

Prasad emphasised the importance of this facility in generating intellectual property and supporting local market needs.

“It is all-encompassing, and it obviously helps us cater to the local market,” he said.

Recently, SAP India launched the SAP Sovereign Cloud, a solution designed to guarantee that clients’ data remains secure, reliable, and protected within the country.

Prasad highlighted the importance of compliance with evolving legal frameworks, stating that companies operating in India must adhere to local regulations.

SAP India stands out among cloud providers by offering an end-to-end technology stack encompassing sovereign infrastructure, applications, and networking.

“Our principle is the entire stack of infrastructure to AI, with data, technical, and operational sovereignty,” Prasad explained. He added that while unforeseen challenges may arise, the company remains committed to maintaining complete sovereignty in line with local laws.

With its focus on scale, innovation, and sovereignty, SAP India is well-positioned to continue supporting the country’s digital transformation and business growth.

Its expanding infrastructure and cutting-edge cloud offerings highlight a strategic approach to empowering Indian enterprises in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
