Singapore’s CapitaLand Commits to Significant Growth in India
The State-owned NMDC announced on Friday a 37.5 percent increase in iron ore production to 3.41 million tonnes (MT) in August 2023.
In the same month last year, the miner produced 2.48 MT of iron ore. The company’s sales increased by 25 percent to 3.54 MT, up from 2.83 MT in August 2022.
During the April-August period of the current fiscal year, the company produced 16.56 MT of iron ore, a 23 percent increase over the 13.45 MT produced the previous year.
Sales increased by 29 percent, rising to 17.43 MT from 13.44 MT in April-August FY23.
The Ministry of Steel’s NMDC is India’s largest iron ore mining firm, meeting 20 percent of the country’s demand for the primary steelmaking raw material.
