Passport Verification Records Now Accessible Online Via DigiLocker

Citizens can now retrieve their Passport Verification Records in the ‘Issued Documents’ section of their DigiLocker account once verification is complete.

This integration ensures that PVRs are securely accessible and digitally verifiable within the DigiLocker ecosystem, providing a convenient and contactless service experience.

DigiLocker is a secure, cloud-based platform under the Digital India programme that allows citizens to issue, store, share, and verify digital documents and certificates.

The platform supports a wide range of documents, including Aadhaar cards, driver’s licences, educational certificates, and now, Passport Verification Records.

With PVRs available digitally, citizens can access their records anytime via the DigiLocker mobile app or web portal.

This is particularly useful for urgent travel plans, employment applications, or any situation requiring official verification.

By enabling digital sharing with authorised agencies, DigiLocker allows instant, consent-based verification without the need for photocopies or physical documents.

Citizens can conveniently fetch and download their PVR from the ‘Issued Documents’ section of their DigiLocker account, eliminating the need to carry physical copies. Both the mobile application and web portal offer seamless access, ensuring that records are always available when needed.

Secure and Authentic Records

Passport Verification Records issued through DigiLocker are digitally signed by the relevant government systems, ensuring authenticity and integrity. The platform’s secure architecture protects records from tampering, making PVRs reliable and trustworthy for official use.

Citizens can digitally share their PVR with authorised agencies via DigiLocker, enabling instant verification without submitting multiple physical copies. This consent-based digital sharing streamlines processes for both citizens and institutions, enhancing efficiency and reducing administrative burdens.

The availability of Passport Verification Records on DigiLocker aligns with the government’s vision of a paperless, secure, and citizen-friendly digital infrastructure.

By integrating official documents into a single digital platform, the initiative promises to enhance convenience, ensure data security, and facilitate faster verification processes for citizens across India.

With PVRs now accessible online through DigiLocker, citizens can enjoy secure, easy, and instant access to an essential official verification document, marking another step towards India’s digital governance goals.
