Ahead of the much-anticipated Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025, the Odisha government on Friday approved several major industrial projects with a combined investment of Rs 32,736 crore.
The approval comes as the state gears up to showcase its industrial potential at the upcoming event.
The approval of these projects took place during the 39th meeting of the High-Level Clearance Authority (HLCA) held in Bhubaneswar on Friday. The state government confirmed that investments worth Rs 32,736 crore have been sanctioned for eight transformative industrial projects across diverse sectors, including chemicals, green energy equipment, shipbuilding, repair, and steel.
According to the state government, these projects will generate significant employment opportunities, with over 18,688 jobs expected to be created. This move is aimed at bolstering Odisha’s industrial base and strengthening its economic foundation.
The government also highlighted that the success of various roadshows held in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Singapore had sparked significant interest from investors. As a result, several companies are now exploring opportunities to invest in Odisha, reinforcing the state’s position as an attractive investment destination.
On the approval of the projects, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi stated, “The approval of these big projects before Utkarsh Odisha 2025 reflects our state’s growing industrial strength.
These investments will create thousands of jobs and directly benefit the people of Odisha. Our focus remains on ensuring that Odisha stays at the forefront of India’s investment map, driving progress and prosperity for all.”
The newly approved industrial projects will be spread across key districts such as Khurda, Jagatsinghpur, Ganjam, Sambalpur, and Bhadrak. These regions will see strengthened industrial activity, further expanding Odisha’s manufacturing capabilities.
With these approvals, Odisha is entering a new phase of industrial growth, positioning itself as a significant player in India’s economic development. The state government aims to continue expanding its industrial landscape, fostering innovation, and creating employment.
The state is set to host the two-day Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025 in Bhubaneswar on January 28-29, aiming to attract global investors and showcase its industrial potential. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the mega event on January 28.
