Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA), developed by Navi Mumbai International Airport Private Limited (NMIAL), is a greenfield airport project in Ulwe, Navi Mumbai, approximately 37 km from South Mumbai.
NMIAL is a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) between Mumbai International Airport Ltd (a subsidiary of Adani Airports Holdings Ltd) holding 74 per cent, and CIDCO holding 26 per cent.
The planners designed the airport to handle the growing air traffic in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and western India while strengthening India’s global connectivity.
NMIA features two parallel ‘Code F’ runways, each 3,700 metres long and 60 metres wide. The airport is being developed in multiple phases:
