LPG Price Hike: OMCs Increase The Price Of LPG Cylinder Ahead The Start Of 2023

LPG Price Hike: Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have increased the price of LPG cylinder, ahead of the New Year celebration. The OMCs have increased the prices up to Rs 25 for commercial cylinders. Despite that, the rates of domestic cylinder have not been changed and they will sell at their existing prices.

Prices Of Commercial LPG Cylinder Hike

After the LPG cylinder hike, price change will be seen in the commercial cylinders increasing up to Rs 25. The move will make it costlier to dine out at restaurants, hotels, etc. However, it won’t impact the budget of commoners as the prices of domestic LPG cylinder remain unchanged.

Ahead of the commencement of 2023, LPG cylinders have become costlier from Uttar Pradesh to Bihar. In the last one year, the rate of domestic LPG cylinder has been changed 5 times. The change resulted in the LLPG cylinder price increase.

LPG Prices In Cities

On the account of New Year 2023, the national capital will experience a rise in cost to Rs 1769 per gas cylinder whereas Rs 1053 per domestic LPG gas cylinder.

Listing the latest rates of commercial gas cylinder in the 4 top metropolitan cities:

Delhi – Rs 1769 / cylinder

Mumbai – Rs 1721/ cylinder

Kolkata – Rs 1870/ cylinder

Chennai – Rs 1917/ cylinder

Listing the rates of domestic LPG cylinder in top 4 metropolitan cities:

Delhi – Rs 1053

Mumbai – Rs 1052.5

Kolkata – Rs 1079

Chennai – Rs 1068.5

The OMCs (Oil Marketing Companies) increased the prices of domestic cylinder last time in July 6 2022. It was increased to Rs 153.5 cumulatively. Prices were hiked four times. OMCs first increased Rs 50 in March 2022, then it again hiked Rs 50 and Rs 3.50 in May month. Finally, it hiked the prices of domestic cylinder by Rs 50 in July last year.

Ahead of the price hike, several opposition parties had raised their voice. While taking the twitter, Congress party wrote, ‘Acche Din?’
