The Regional Industry Conclave is underway in Gwalior. This is the third such event in Madhya Pradesh in the past six months. Nine industry sectors have shown strong interest in setting up operations in the region. The Adani Group has announced plans for major facilities: a cement factory in Guna, a defence system factory in Shivpuri, and a women-operated jacket factory in Badarwas.
Karan Adani, Managing Director of Adani Port and SEZ Limited, announced that the Adani Group will invest ₹3,500 crores in two major projects in Madhya Pradesh. The group has already invested ₹18,250 crores in the state, creating 12,000 jobs in sectors like cement, defence, and power.
Gwalior is emerging as a tourism hotspot and a key trade hub. The Adani Defence facility in Gwalior is now the country’s largest small arms plant. The Adani Group will set up a 2 MTPA cement grinding unit in Guna and a propellant production facility in Shivpuri. These projects will involve an investment of ₹3,500 crores and create over 3,500 jobs.
The Adani Foundation has impacted 80,000 households and touched 3 lakh lives in Madhya Pradesh. It supports healthcare, education, sustainable livelihoods, and women empowerment. The foundation will also set up a jacket production center in Badarwas, run entirely by women.
Karan Adani praised the Chief Minister’s efforts and highlighted the optimism for India, Madhya Pradesh, and Gwalior. He committed the Adani Group to supporting the region’s development, calling it “Mukhya Pradesh” in the nation’s growth journey.
