Jio Platforms Moves Closer To IPO; Board Approves Draft Prospectus

Jio Platforms Limited (JPL), the technology and telecom subsidiary of Reliance Industries, has taken a significant step towards its proposed stock market debut.

The company stated that its board of directors has approved the Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) and will submit it to the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the BSE, and the NSE.

The proposed initial public offering (IPO) comprises a fresh issue of up to 27 crore equity shares with a face value of Rs 10 each.

The company will determine the final issue price through the book-building process in accordance with SEBI regulations.

In a stock exchange filing, the company confirmed that the board had authorised the submission of the draft prospectus for the planned public issue.

Reliance Industries Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani termed the development an emotional and important milestone for the Reliance family and its vast shareholder base. He noted that the company’s relationship with investors has been shaped by confidence, respect and a shared commitment to progress.

According to Mukesh Ambani, the proposed listing will underline India’s growing ability to build world-class technology businesses capable of competing on a global stage.

Mukesh Ambani also pointed to the growing role of the next generation within the Reliance Group. He said Akash Ambani, Isha Ambani and Anant Ambani are steering the IPO process and will be instrumental in unlocking future growth opportunities for Jio.

Expressing optimism about the road ahead, Mukesh Ambani said the company remains committed to delivering long-term value and creating new opportunities for both existing and future shareholders.
