India’s ambitious push to become a global semiconductor manufacturing hub expect to create approximately 1 million jobs across various sectors by 2026, according to a new report. This surge in employment will span several key areas, including semiconductor fabrication, Assembly, Testing, Marking, and Packaging (ATMP), chip design, software development, and supply chain management.
The report estimates that chip semiconductor fabrication alone will generate around 300,000 jobs, while ATMP will contribute approximately 200,000 positions. Other roles will emerge in fields like system circuits and manufacturing supply chain management, driven by the increasing demand for chips in electronics, automotive, and telecommunications.
