Goldi Solar provides rooftop solar power installation to 41 workers rescued from Uttarakhand tunnel

Goldi Solar, based in Gujarat, announced on Wednesday that it will install a rooftop solar power system at the homes of the 41 workers who were rescued from the Silkyara tunnel collapse site in Uttarakhand.

On Tuesday evening, a rescue team extracted all 41 workers trapped in Uttarakhand’s Silkyara tunnel in a multi-agency rescue mission that had hung in the balance for nearly 17 days.

In a statement, Goldi Solar stated, “With the nation celebrating the safe returns of our brave workers who were trapped in Uttarkashi, we will support the affected families and individuals. Goldi Solar will power the residence of all the 41 workers with rooftop solar installations”.

Ishver Dholakiya, the founder and MD of Goldi Solar, stated this initiative is a step toward empowering these families with access to sustainable energy and hope for a better future. Goldi Solar is committed to assisting and contributing to the well-being of underprivileged communities.

He went on to say that the project would be funded by the firm.

Goldi Solar, headquartered in Surat (Gujarat), has two solar module/panel manufacturing plants, totaling 3,000 megawatts (MW) in the districts of Pipodara and Navsari.

The company is investing Rs 5,000 crore to double its module manufacturing capacity to 6,000 MW by 2026, in addition to establishing a cell manufacturing unit.
