In a visit filled with warmth and purpose, industrialist and Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani reached out to children with disabilities at Dhanbad’s Pehla Kadam School and the Narayani Charitable Trust.
Both institutions have long been working to uplift children with physical and intellectual disabilities, and Adani’s presence brought a renewed sense of encouragement to students, teachers, and parents alike.
During the visit, Adani inaugurated the newly established ‘Nayi Udaan Cafe’, a vocational training initiative designed to help children with disabilities learn essential life and employment skills.
The café aims to train students in food preparation, cafe management, serving, and other hospitality-related tasks that can open pathways to independence and dignified work.
Adani praised the institution’s ongoing efforts and pledged continued support for the next three years, reaffirming the group’s commitment to inclusive development. He interacted with the children, listened to their stories, and encouraged them to dream without limits.
Speaking at the event, Adani said, “Every member of society deserves equal opportunity. We must ensure that children with disabilities are supported in a way that allows their abilities to shine. ‘Nayi Udaan Cafe’ is not only a platform for skill development but also a step toward giving these children their rightful place in society.”
The café marks a significant step in the journey toward empowerment.
Students at Pehla Kadam School, many of whom come from economically disadvantaged families, will receive hands-on training to build confidence and become self-reliant.
The school already provides a wide range of services, including special education, physiotherapy, speech therapy, vocational training, life-skills sessions, and healthcare support, all at no cost.
Several students have even represented Jharkhand in national para-sports events.
The overarching mission is clear: to ensure that every child with disabilities finds the opportunity to lead an independent and respected life.
Both Pehla Kadam School and Narayani Charitable Trust have been acknowledged at the state and national levels, receiving recognition from the Governor of Jharkhand as well as the President of India.
Adani’s involvement adds further momentum to their work and sends a strong message about social responsibility and inclusion.
The visit turned into an inspiring moment, not just for the children and teachers, but for the community at large. It underscored the belief that when industry leaders and social institutions join hands, meaningful change becomes possible.
Adani’s support is more than financial assistance; it is a powerful endorsement of the idea that inclusion and dignity must be at the heart of India’s development journey.
The initiative symbolises hope and demonstrates what compassion and commitment can achieve together.
Teachers, parents, social workers, and senior Adani Group officials attended the event, marking a memorable day for the children, who now look towards a brighter and more confident future.
