FAITH brings together key bodies such as the Association of Domestic Tour Operators of India (ATOAI), Federation of Hotels & Restaurants Associations of India (FHRAI), Hotel Association of India (HAI), Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO), and India Convention Promotion Bureau (ICPB).
The body has pledged full commitment to the sustainable growth of Indian tourism. It has unveiled its Tourism Vision 2047, aiming for a $3 trillion tourism economy.
The vision targets 100 million foreign arrivals and 20 billion domestic visits. It also aims to create 200 million jobs, directly and indirectly.
Furthermore, it plans to double tourism’s GDP share to 10% by 2047, aligning with government goals.
FAITH Chairman and IHCL MD & CEO Puneet Chhatwal called tourism the heartbeat of nations. He stressed its ability to connect cultures and drive economies. Moreover, he noted its influence in business, medical, and spiritual tourism.
Chhatwal pointed out the sector’s resilience despite challenges.
“One in four new jobs globally comes from tourism, aviation, and hospitality,” he said. Presently, the sector provides 7–9% of global employment.
According to him, the figure will soon touch double digits. He described tourism as a powerful multiplier of livelihoods that India must harness for future prosperity.
The FAITH Conclave 2025 will focus on delivering the $3 trillion tourism economy target. It will aim to increase tourism jobs from 5 crore to 20 crore. In addition, it seeks to place India in the top five of the World Economic Forum’s Travel & Tourism Development Index.
The roadmap also intends to raise foreign exchange earnings from $30 billion to $400 billion. It further plans to boost domestic tourism visits from 2 billion to 20 billion. Through these steps, FAITH aims to position tourism as a core engine of India’s socio-economic growth.
