Elon Musk has sharply criticized Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella, describing the recent global Windows outage as having caused significant disruptions across various sectors, including the automotive supply chain.
Despite his companies Tesla, SpaceX, and the X social media platform remaining operational, Musk highlighted the widespread impact on suppliers linked to the CrowdStrike-Microsoft outage.
Musk expressed frustration over the outage’s effect on Tesla’s supply chain, noting that many of Tesla’s suppliers experienced severe issues due to the incident.
“We just deleted CrowdStrike from all our systems, so no rollouts at all,” Musk stated.
CrowdStrike, which has been at the center of the controversy, acknowledged the problem and is actively working to mitigate the effects of a defect found in a recent content update for Windows hosts.
“As CrowdStrike continues to work with customers and partners to resolve this incident, our team has written a technical overview of today’s events. We will continue to update our findings as the investigation progresses,” George Kurtz, President and CEO of CrowdStrike, posted on X.
The outage, which affected millions of users worldwide, caused widespread disruptions.
Users reported experiencing the infamous ‘Blue Screen of Death,’ leading to system crashes and restarts.
The incident notably impacted several sectors, including airlines and airport services in India, amplifying the outage’s global reach and severity.
