EaseMyTrip Co-Founder Nishant Pitti Takes Charge As CMD After Prashant Pitti Resigns

Online travel booking platform EaseMyTrip announced on Friday that Prashant Pitti has resigned from his position as Managing Director (MD) with immediate effect.

The company confirmed that co-founder Nishant Pitti has taken charge as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) following shareholders’ approval.

Nishant Pitti Outlines New Vision

Sharing his thoughts on X (formerly Twitter), Nishant Pitti said, “I take charge as Chairman & MD @EaseMyTrip. As Founder, my vision is to scale EMT beyond travel into a diversified ecosystem. Promoters remain fully aligned with shareholders with no share sales and zero salary.”

His statement highlights the promoters’ strong commitment to the company’s long-term growth and stability, assuring stakeholders of continuity in leadership.

This leadership transition comes months after Nishant Pitti himself had resigned as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), citing personal reasons.

At that time, the company appointed his brother and co-founder, Rikant Pitti, as CEO.

Nishant’s return in the dual role of Chairman and Managing Director now places him back at the core of strategic decision-making for the company.

Commenting on his new role, Nishant Pitti stated, “Taking up the CMD position allows me to work more closely with our people, unlock new opportunities, achieve greater heights, and continue building a travel-tech brand that India can be proud of.”

He stressed that the position would help him engage more directly with employees and stakeholders while driving innovation and expansion.

Expanding Beyond Travel

EaseMyTrip, under Nishant Pitti, is set to grow beyond its core travel services. He emphasised that the company is evolving into a broader ecosystem of businesses and services.

In its official statement, the company reaffirmed that promoters would not sell any shares and would continue working without drawing salaries.

With this transition, EaseMyTrip aims to boost growth and strengthen its position in India’s travel-tech sector.
