Early Trading Sees A Dip In Stocks

Sensex and Nifty dipped early Tuesday as volatility persisted amid conflicting global market trends.

The Sensex opened higher, climbing 116.42 points to 71,188.91. However, it quickly reversed course, dropping 129.92 points to 70,942.57.

Similarly, the broader Nifty initially advanced 14.80 points to 21,630.85 before losing ground and falling 63.25 points to 21,552.80.

Tata Steel, JSW Steel, PoweGrid, and Wipro were among the top losers on the Sensex, while ICICI Bank, NTPC, ITC, and Kotak Bank were trading higher.

In Asia markets, Tokyo’s Nikkei 225, South Korea’s Kospi, and China’s Shanghai Composite were trading higher, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng was down.

European markets closed Monday’s session in the green.

On Monday, the US market closed on a mixed note.

Brent crude gained 0.09 percent to USD 82.07 per barrel on Tuesday.

According to the exchange data, Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) brought equities worth Rs 126.60 crore on Monday.

On Monday, the Sensex concluded 523 points or 0.73 percent lower at 71,072.49, while the Nifty closed 166.45 points or 0.76 at 21,616.05.
