SpiceJet, a domestic airline, announced on Friday that one of its planes, which had been seized and grounded in Dubai due to litigation in late October, had been released following an order from the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Court.
In a statement, SpiceJet wrote, “In a DIFC Court hearing on December 7, the Order was discharged in favor of SpiceJet”.
“Additionally, the Judge has directed an inquiry into losses suffered by SpiceJet as a result of the Order having been made. The Court has further ordered to pay towards the legal costs incurred by SpiceJet”, the statement reads.
The airline went on to say, “Additionally, the Judge has directed an inquiry into losses suffered by SpiceJet as a result of the Order having been made. The Court has further ordered to pay towards the legal costs incurred by SpiceJet”.
According to SpiceJet, the DIFC Court issued a freezing order (Order) on October 30 for specific engines installed on VT-SLM aircraft registered in India.
“The aircraft was grounded at Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai and has remained there since then”, SpiceJet continued.
“Summarily, there isn’t any Order of the DIFC Court restricting SpiceJet from operating the aircraft, including departing from DWC”, SpiceJet added.
