Adani Power Ltd on Wednesday reported robust financial performance for the third quarter of FY26, despite temporary disruptions in power demand.
The company demonstrated earnings resilience, strong liquidity, and steady progress on long-term expansion plans.
Adani Power posted stable continuing revenue of Rs 12,717 crore in Q3 FY26, even as power tariffs softened due to lower market rates.
Continuing EBITDA stood at a healthy Rs 4,636 crore, reflecting disciplined cost management and operational efficiency.
The company reported a strong profit after tax of Rs 2,488 crore for the quarter.
During the quarter, Adani Power added a major long-term Power Purchase Agreement of 3.2 GW from Assam DISCOM.
This addition lifted total expansion capacity tied up under PPAs to 11.7 GW. Around 90 per cent of the company’s existing operating capacity is now secured through long- and medium-term PPAs, ensuring revenue stability.
The company also strengthened its balance sheet by raising Rs 7,500 crore through AA-rated non-convertible debentures.
The funds will support capacity expansion and working capital needs. Credit rating agencies reaffirmed Adani Power’s strong credit profile, reflecting confidence in its financial discipline.
Operationally, Adani Power sold 23.6 billion units of electricity in Q3 FY26, marginally higher than last year, despite early and extended monsoon conditions.
The 600 MW Butibori power plant became fully operational within four months of acquisition, adding to effective capacity.
For the nine months ended December 2025, power sales rose 3.4 per cent to 71.8 billion units.
Continuing EBITDA for 9M FY26 stood at Rs 15,713 crore, while profit after tax reached Rs 8,700 crore, impacted mainly by lower one-time income.
Management highlighted that India’s power demand growth moderated due to extended monsoons, cooler temperatures, and rising renewable generation.
However, Adani Power reiterated confidence in long-term electricity demand and the critical role of thermal power in ensuring energy security.
The company continues to execute India’s largest thermal capacity expansion programme of 23.7 GW.
Multiple brownfield projects are progressing on schedule, supported by early equipment procurement and in-house project management.
Adani Power reaffirmed its commitment to reliable, affordable power, sustainable operations, and strengthening India’s energy infrastructure for long-term growth.
