Adani Power reported a strong financial performance for the first quarter of FY27, with consolidated profit after tax (PAT) rising 47.2 per cent year-on-year to ₹4,867 crore from ₹3,305 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
The company attributed the growth to effective control over finance costs despite expanding operations and continuing its capital expenditure programme.
The Adani Group company also posted a 26.6 per cent increase in consolidated continuing revenue to ₹17,936 crore in Q1 FY27, compared with ₹14,167 crore a year earlier.
Higher power sales and better tariff realisation drove the company’s growth.
Continuing EBITDA rose 21.6 per cent to a record ₹6,983 crore, the company’s highest-ever quarterly performance.
Power sales increased 16.9 per cent to 28.8 billion units, supported by higher operating capacity and strong electricity demand.
CEO SB Khyalia said the results reflected Adani Power’s cost-efficient operations and operational excellence. He added that Adani Power remains on track to expand its generation capacity to 45 GW through ongoing projects supported by strong operational cash flows.
Khyalia said Adani Power is expanding through the acquisition of Jaiprakash Associates’ power assets while entering hydropower and exploring opportunities in the nuclear energy sector.
Power supplied under long-term PPAs rose 30.3 per cent to 24.5 BU, while tariff realisation improved to ₹5.95 per kWh.
Merchant and short-term tariffs increased 13.1 per cent to ₹7.04 per kWh.
The company also acquired the 180 MW Churk thermal power plant and stakes in Jaiprakash Power Ventures and Prayagraj Power Generation Company.
