Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani announced a ₹1 lakh crore investment in Assam and the northeast over the next decade.
The announcement came at the Rising Northeast Summit in Delhi, attended by PM Modi, CMs, Minister Scindia, and top industrialists.
Adani detailed that the investment will target green energy, power transmission, roads, digital infrastructure, logistics, and human capital development.
“Our focus will span smart meters, hydro, pumped storage, power transmission, roads and highways, digital infrastructure, logistics, as well as capacity-building through skilling and vocational training centres,” said Adani.
This doubles Adani Group’s Rs 50,000 crore pledge made at February’s Advantage Assam 2.0 summit.
“Humbled and inspired by your leadership,” Gautam Adani told PM Modi, “I announce that the Adani Group will invest an additional Rs 50,000 crore across the northeast over the next 10 years.”
Gautam Adani praised the transformation of the northeast under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.
He noted Rs 6.2 lakh crore in infrastructure since 2014, doubling roads to 16,000 km and raising airports from 9 to 18.
The Adani Group Chairman credited the PM’s ‘Act East, Act Fast, Act First’ doctrine as a driving force behind this growth, calling it “a hallmark of big thinking.”
Beyond physical infrastructure, Gautam Adani emphasised that the group’s investments will prioritise job creation, local entrepreneurship, and community engagement.
“More than infrastructure, we will invest in people. Every initiative will prioritise local jobs, local entrepreneurship, and community engagement,” he stated.
Gautam Adani reaffirmed support for Viksit Bharat 2047 and pledged partnership with the northeast.
“To our brothers and sisters of the northeast, we at Adani will stand beside your dreams, your dignity, and your destiny,” he declared.
Adani Group becomes key driver of northeast’s growth in energy, connectivity, and jobs.
