The Global Indology Conclave, hosted at the Adani Corporate House, drew scholars, researchers and cultural experts from around the world to explore Indian philosophy, civilisational studies and cultural heritage.
Organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Education’s Indian Knowledge System, the three-day event brought together scholars and experts. It aimed to reinvigorate global academic interest in India’s knowledge traditions.
The presence of actors associated with the iconic portrayals of Ram and Krishna added a distinctive cultural depth to the discussions.
During the ceremony, Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani announced a landmark commitment towards the creation of an India Knowledge Graph.
Declaring a founding contribution of ₹100 crore, he described the initiative as a way of honouring a ‘civilisational debt’. The project seeks to map and consolidate India’s intellectual, cultural and philosophical heritage using modern technology and scholarly expertise.
Arun Govil, who famously portrayed Ram in the television adaptation of the Ramayan and now serves as the MP from Meerut, emphasised in a special session that people should not view Ram merely as a religious figure. He described him as a ‘living mantra’, an ideal that continues to guide both individuals and society.
Govil noted that the Ramayan goes beyond being a religious text, representing a comprehensive narrative of social and familial relationships.
He highlighted Ram’s balanced fulfilment of filial and royal duties, arguing that his life offers enduring lessons on morality, humanity and positive conduct.
Nitish Bharadwaj, who portrayed Krishna in the Mahabharat, reflected on Krishna’s role in upholding Ram’s ideals. He explained how Krishna carried those principles forward within a more pragmatic framework.
He stated that Krishna demonstrated how dharma evolves through practical decision-making for the welfare of family, society and the nation.
Bharadwaj stressed that the characters of Ram and Krishna transcend mythology, offering inspiration for timely and just decision-making in everyday life.
The conclave concluded with a renewed call to strengthen global engagement with India’s civilisational knowledge. It underscored that while times may change, the guiding ideals embodied by Ram and Krishna continue to retain their relevance.
