Adani Foundation, Anushkaa Foundation Launch Clubfoot Care Programme For 10,000 Children

The Adani Foundation, the social development arm of the Adani Group, has partnered with the Anushkaa Foundation to improve access to treatment and long-term care for children affected by clubfoot across five Indian states.

Announced on World Clubfoot Day, the three-year initiative aims to support more than 10,000 children in Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Himachal Pradesh.

The programme will focus on expanding treatment access, strengthening public healthcare systems and improving early diagnosis and referral mechanisms.

The partnership was formally launched at Manyavar Kanshiram Samyukth Chikitsalay and Trauma Centre in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, a state that records one of the highest numbers of clubfoot cases in the country.

Experts estimate that around 6,000 children are born with the condition in Uttar Pradesh every year.

Clubfoot is a congenital condition in which one or both feet turn inward at birth.

Although doctors can effectively treat the condition using the globally recognised Ponseti method, many children in underserved communities still miss timely diagnosis and treatment.

Working in collaboration with the National Health Mission (NHM), the programme will support 67 clubfoot clinics across 61 districts. It will also strengthen the skills of 51 healthcare professionals and sensitise more than 30,000 frontline health workers to improve early detection and timely referrals.

Dr Priti Adani said the initiative reflects the Foundation’s commitment to helping children with treatable disabilities lead independent lives.

Deepak Premnarayen said the partnership will expand access to early diagnosis and quality treatment. India records around 33,000 clubfoot births each year, including nearly 12,000 in the five target states.

The programme supports the Adani Foundation’s community development efforts, while the Anushkaa Foundation has already helped more than 26,000 children through programmes across 13 states.
