Adani Electricity Streamlines Temporary Power Connections For Festive Pandals

With the festive season approaching, Adani Electricity on Friday made it easier for organisers of Navratri and Durga Puja pandals to get temporary electricity connections at residential rates.

The move aims to ensure a reliable power supply for pandals across Mumbai during the celebrations.

With a focus on safety and efficiency, the new process guarantees connections within 48 hours of application submission.

Organisers can now apply for a temporary electricity connection online through the ‘New Connection’ section on Adani Electricity’s website.

A spokesperson for Adani Electricity stated, “Mumbai is preparing to celebrate Navratri and Durga Puja with great enthusiasm. We understand the importance of uninterrupted power during these celebrations. Last year, we successfully provided continuous electricity to over 647 Durga Puja/Navratri pandals across the city.”

“This year, we’ve strengthened our operations to ensure even faster connection releases and reliable supply,” the spokesperson added.

Adani Electricity has also set up a quick response team with a clear restoration plan to swiftly handle any unexpected issues during the festive period.

The company also issued a safety advisory urging pandals to employ only licensed electrical contractors, install Residual Current Circuit Breakers (RCCBs) to safeguard devotees and volunteers, and follow standard wiring practices.

Key recommendations included:

  • Using standard wires and switches,
  • Restricting meter cabin access to authorised personnel,
  • Ensuring proper earthing, and
  • Installing fire extinguishers and danger boards near meter cabins

Adani Electricity also advised against unauthorised extensions, direct supply connections, improper wiring joints, and exceeding sanctioned load limits.

It cautioned organisers to prevent public access to floodlights, pedestal fans, or insulated joints and to keep hazardous materials away from meter cabins.

Earlier this year, during the Ganpati festival, Adani Electricity provided around 950 temporary connections for Ganpati pandals.

The company also installed over 2,571 floodlights at 167 Lord Ganesh immersion points across 15 BMC wards, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for devotees.
