Adani Electricity has launched a Monsoon Safety Awareness Drive across BMC schools and slums within its power distribution areas. The initiative aims to educate consumers about electrical safety during the monsoon.
Students, teachers and Adani Electricity safety officials are participating in awareness sessions.
The campaign includes locations such as Ganeshbaug BMC Marathi Semi-English School in Kurla West.
The company has strengthened its disaster management preparedness to protect its 3.15 million customers from potential monsoon-related disruptions.
Adani Electricity has activated its Central Disaster Control Centre (CDCC) to manage emergencies during the season.
The facility will operate round the clock and coordinate rapid responses and communication.
“Our team is fully prepared to address monsoon season-related challenges,” an Adani Electricity spokesperson said in an earlier statement.
“With the support of our Quick Response Teams and the Central Disaster Management team, we are committed to ensuring the safety of our consumers and maintaining a reliable power supply,” the spokesperson added.
The company has deployed seven Quick Response Teams (QRTs) across its distribution network. These teams have detailed response, recovery and restoration plans tailored to monsoon-related risks.
Adani Electricity has integrated 98 advanced water-level sensors with its Advanced Distribution Management System at critical locations.
The system will help detect rising water levels and enable faster action during flood-related electrical incidents.
The CDCC will use satellite and wireless technologies, including walkie-talkies and remote devices, to maintain seamless communication between departments and external authorities.
The company is continuing safety awareness sessions across its supply area to promote responsible electrical practices during the monsoon.
