Our mental health has a significant impact on how we feel, think, and behave. It also affects our capacity to handle stress, overcome obstacles, form connections, and accomplish our objectives. However, a variety of circumstances, including personal issues, work pressure, environmental stresses, and lifestyle choices, can have a detrimental impact on our mental health. We enquired as to whether there were any easy and practical strategies to boost our quality of life and mental wellness with Vastu Acharya Manoj Shrivastava. According to him, Vastu’s only goal is to balance the energy flow around us so that our homes can be happy, healthy, and supportive environments for our mental health and happiness.
The following Vastu Tips can be used in your home to improve your mental health:
1. Meditation is an effective technique that can relax your mind, lower your stress level, improve your attention, and foster happiness. According to Vastu Shastra, the east or north-east is the greatest direction for your meditation room because these directions are linked to good energy, enlightenment, and wisdom. It will also be easier for you to align with the rising sun’s therapeutic rays if you meditate facing east.
2. In order to create a relaxing ambiance, you can paint your meditation area with calming hues like white, beige, pale yellow, or green and use candles, incense sticks, or aroma diffusers. A sacred altar with your favourite gods, symbols, or items that motivate you can also be set up.
3. Your main entrance should be created and maintained in a way that draws in good vibes and wards off bad vibes. According to Vastu Acharya Manoj Shrivastava, the main door should not only be located in the biggest room in the house but also open clockwise and inward.
4. When it is opened or closed, the main door shouldn’t squeak. It shouldn’t be placed in front of a garbage, shoe rack, restroom or any other cluttered area. It ought to be painted in vibrant colours.
5. You spend the majority of your time unwinding, resting, and regenerating in your bedroom. Additionally, it is where you develop your relationship with your partner through sharing private moments. Making your bedroom a cosy, peaceful area that supports your relationship and mental health is therefore crucial. When you are sleeping, the bed should be positioned such that your head is facing south or east.
6. Because they could lead to stress, worry, or health problems, the bed shouldn’t be positioned close to a beam, a window, or a ceiling fan.
7. Stay away from storage beds and box springs since they might harbour bad energy.
8. Calming hues like blue, green, pink, or purple that promote relaxation should be used in the bedroom. Red, orange, and yellow should be avoided since they can stimulate your nervous system and interfere with your sleep.
9. The bedroom should have a minimal amount of furniture and accessories, be clutter-free, and be devoid of electronics. This will assist you in creating a roomy, peaceful environment that encourages sound sleep.
10. Your mental health may be affected by the negative energy that might result from clutter. By removing unused items and organising your space, you can declutter your living or working space. This will contribute to the development of an environment that is tranquil and supportive of mental health.
11. Colours significantly influence our feelings and moods. Vastu states that some colours are better for mental health than others. Warm colours like red and orange can boost energy and excitement, while cool colours like blue and green are tranquil and soothing.
