The news is hot in the National Capital and around it too. Kejriwal rejected it. The CM of Delhi din’t like to join the Enforcement Direcorate for the questioning. He is too busy with his obligations as the party supremo as well as the state-supremo.
Kejriwal is on the way to Singrauli in MP for the campaign of his party AAP. The Chief Minister of Delhi says hes is the star campaigner for his party’s electoral battle in the coming up state polls. He calls the questioning call as illegal.
This is a money laundering case going on where the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had summoned Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal for a questioning today on November 02. The questioning pertains to a money laundering case hailing from the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy.
Arvind Kejriwal will instead go to Madhya Pradesh for a roadshow with Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. By the time ED officials would be waiting for him to join the questioning, the wind Kejriwal will be seen in MP.
Prior to the presence of Kejriwal to the questioning, there is political slugfest erupted between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) where AAP leaders had started anticipating Kejriwal’s arrest on November 02 by the ED. Though it was a political strategy of the party to stop their leader’s possible arrest, but what ultimately occured was totally unexpected.
The question here explores an answer: ”Is the questioning invitation/notice by the ED rejectable?” Is a person in India entitled to not support the legal procedure that too against a corruption charge?
No doubt, Kejriwal must have gone for a legal advise in this direction and finally went ahead ignoring the notice. But is that permissible for a political head of a state? Isn’t it going to begin a tradition of disobeying a summon by a top investigative agency?
This might look to many as a BJP defeat since there were a lot of hue and cries suggesting that Kejriwal is going to be arrested on November 02. The Delhi CM was ready with what he had to do so he kept mum till the eleventh hour.
But what is next now? The ED is no way going to like it. Now what the AAP leaders were expecting may prove to be true. Let us see the next moves of Kejari-Chaal against the caterpillar brawl.
