WhatsApp Down Globally! Users Unable To Send And Receive Messages

According to Downdetector, a platform that monitors the health of websites and services, WhatsApp has been having issues since about 11:00 PM EST. Unknown at this time is what caused the outage. WhatsApp’s parent company, Meta, has acknowledged the issues and stated that it is striving to find solutions.

Users are experiencing severe disruption as a result of the outage. Businesses are also being impacted, and many people are unable to contact friends and relatives. When the outage will be fixed remains unclear. Although Meta hasn’t provided an ETA, it’s probable that they will be working on the issue through the night.

Users can test out other texting services like Telegram or Signal in the meanwhile. They could also try utilizing WhatsApp’s online interface. The disruption serves as a reminder of the value of having a backup plan in place in case your main communication channels are interrupted.
