Viral Video: Morocco Earthquake Caused Havoc In Wedding, People Seen Rushing In Panic

Earthquake of extreme magnitude hit Morocco on Friday, It has claimed the lives of more than 2000 people in the area. Several buildings and houses are dashed to debris just because of the earthquake. A video of the same horrifying night is going viral in which a wedding venue can be seen. Camera captured people running for their lives as they felt the tremors on land. The musicians and singer may be seen leaving the stage and leaving with other wedding guests through a doorway. ”When the powerful earthquake interrupted a wedding in Marrakech, Morocco,” a video shared on X was captioned.

Morocco Earthquake turned buildings to rubble

Other footage released online by Moroccans showed damaged portions of the well-known red walls that encircle the old city in medieval Marrakech, a UNESCO World Heritage site, as well as structures reduced to rubble and dust.

The 6.8-magnitude earthquake that occurred on Friday destroyed entire towns in the Atlas mountain highlands, which were located 72 kilometers (45 miles) southwest of Marrakesh, a popular tourist destination. According to the most recent statistics from Morocco’s interior ministry, the earthquake left at least 2,012 people dead and 2,059 others injured, 1,404 of them are in critical condition.

Rescue operations going on in the city

Rescue efforts are in progress and it is thought that many individuals are still trapped beneath the rubble. Since an earthquake that wrecked Agadir in 1960 and killed more than 12,000 people, this one was the deadliest to strike Morocco.

PM Modi expressed Grief

On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed sorrow over the deaths caused by the earthquake and pledged that India will help the country in every way it could.
