US President Donald Trump Postpones China Visit As Iran Conflict Continues

US President Donald Trump has postponed his planned visit to China by about a month as the war involving Iran continues.

Speaking in Washington, DC, Trump said he asked Chinese authorities to delay the trip so he could remain in the United States during the ongoing conflict.

The President had been scheduled to travel to China from March 28 to April 1, but new dates for the visit have not yet been announced.

Trump expressed hope that the conflict could end soon.

When asked whether the war might conclude this week, the US President said it may take a little longer, but expected it to finish in the near future. He added that the outcome would contribute to a safer world.

He emphasised that the decision to postpone the trip was solely due to the ongoing war and not related to diplomatic tensions with China.

Trump said he chose to remain in Washington while the situation unfolds. Despite delaying the trip, he said relations between the United States and China remain positive and that he looks forward to visiting later.

The US President made the remarks during an interaction with reporters in the Oval Office after signing a memorandum on domestic fraud, with much of the discussion focusing on the Iran conflict.

Trump defended the operation, saying he felt obligated to act despite preferring to avoid conflict. He argued that failing to act could have led to serious consequences for the United States.

Trump further claimed the conflict had significantly weakened Iran’s military capabilities.

Commenting on financial markets, he said any short-term impact was manageable.

When asked about possible next military steps, including the deployment of ground forces, Trump declined to provide details.
