Unforgettable: Japanese Performer Calls PM Modi’s Visit The Best Day Of Their Life

Members of the Japanese community in Tokyo welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi with a heartfelt cultural reception on Friday as he arrived for the 15th India–Japan Annual Summit.

The event, blending Indian tradition with Japanese warmth, left both audiences and performers visibly moved.

In a remarkable display of cultural harmony, Japanese artists dressed in vibrant Rajasthani attire greeted the Prime Minister with a spirited folk song from Rajasthan.

The group also recited the Gayatri Mantra along with other Sanskrit verses as a gesture of respect, underscoring their admiration for India’s heritage.

The interaction between the Indian leader and the performers proved especially memorable.

One participant reflected, “It was such an impressive experience. I never expected that Modi ji would take a picture with us, so I was deeply moved.”

Another performer, who played the tabla, expressed his feelings in a mix of English and Hindi, asserting, “I can’t express it properly, not even with my broken Hindi. There is so much to say, but for me, today has been the best day of my life, it’s unforgettable.”

These reflections highlighted the cultural bridge that continues to grow between India and Japan, further strengthened by Prime Minister Modi’s appreciation of their efforts to embrace Indian traditions.

The warm reception and personal exchanges left many filled with admiration, pride, and emotion.

PM Modi’s Two-Day Agenda

During his two-day official visit to Tokyo, Prime Minister Modi will likely hold bilateral discussions with his Japanese counterpart, Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba.

The agenda focuses on strengthening the India–Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership, particularly in economic ties, technology, defence, and people-to-people exchanges.

This is PM Modi’s first visit to Japan since May 2023. Since then, he and Prime Minister Ishiba have met several times, most recently on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in Kananaskis, Canada, in June 2025, and earlier at the 21st ASEAN–India Summit in Vientiane, Laos.
