On Sunday, former US President Donald Trump approved a GoFundMe campaign to collect money for the supporters and families of the attendees who were shot and killed during his event in Pennsylvania.
In the short time it took to put up, the call for action launched by Trump’s presidential campaign has raised $213,193.
The National Finance Director and Senior Advisor of the Trump campaign, Meredith ORourke, organised the fundraising campaign and wrote: “President Donald Trump has authorised this account as a place for donations to the supporters and families wounded or killed in today’s brutal and horrific assassination attempt.”

“All donations will be directed to these proud Americans as they grieve and recover. May God bless and unite our nation,” the organiser added.
At a campaign rally on Saturday, Trump, who is expected to be named the Republican Party’s presidential candidate, barely escaped bullets that struck him in the right ear and killed two other attendees.
The gunman, Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, has been identified by the FBI. Following his firing of shots at the former US President during a campaign rally in western Pennsylvania, Crooks was instantly shot and killed by security personnel.
