The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) announced in a post on X today that the 19-year-old Israeli woman soldier who was abducted by Hamas on October 7 had been discovered dead.
Corporal Noa Marciano’s body was discovered in the Gaza Strip adjacent to Shifa Hospital, according to the IDF.
Israel has charged Hamas with constructing weapon storage facilities, reinforced bunkers, and tunnels under residential structures including schools and hospitals. To support its accusations against Hamas, the IDF has made numerous images from these structures public.

“On October 7, Hamas militants kidnapped and killed 19-year-old CPL Noa Marciano. IDF soldiers located and removed her body in Gaza, next to the Shifa Hospital. The IDF said in a post that featured a picture of the killed soldier, “The IDF sends its sincere condolences to the family and will continue to support them.”
The IDF said earlier today that a second hostage, 65 years old, who was the mother of five children, had been found murdered close to the Gaza hospital.
The 65-year-old Yehudit Weiss “was murdered by the terrorists in the Gaza Strip and we didn’t manage to reach her in time,” according to Daniel Hagari, an IDF spokesperson. On October 7, the same day that Hamas abducted her and brought her to Gaza, Hamas assassinated her husband.
Additional footage depicting Hamas tunnels beneath three of the biggest hospitals in the Gaza Strip was also released by the IDF.

revealing a further aspect of Hamas’s exploitation of three of Gaza’s biggest hospitals. Uncovered inside the Shifa Hospital complex is a terrorist tunnel used by Hamas. IDF forces discovered yet another terrorist tunnel within the Rantisi Hospital. A significant amount of weapons and ammunition were discovered within the Al-Quds Hospital. All of this was discovered within the last day, according to an IDF thread on X.
The largest hospital in Gaza was being searched building by building by Israeli commandos while Palestinian people who were confined within the facility were made more anxious by a fresh communications blackout that occurred today.

Since Israeli soldiers assaulted the compound on Wednesday in search of a command centre they believe Hamas maintains there, Al-Shifa Hospital has become a focal point for Israeli operations in northern Gaza.
The accusation is refuted by Hamas and hospital administrators, but thousands of people, including injured patients and premature infants, are said to be stuck within, raising concerns throughout the world.

In reaction to the October 7 attack, which claimed 1,200 lives, the most of them civilians, and resulted in roughly 240 hostages being abducted, Israeli leaders have promised to destroy Hamas.
