‘The Warmth And Affection Of The Indian Diaspora Are Truly Heartwarming’: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday praised the warmth and affection of the Indian diaspora during a community programme in Jakarta, describing their welcome as deeply heartening.

Sharing his thoughts on X, PM Modi said the overwhelming enthusiasm of the Indian community reflected the enduring bond between India and its overseas citizens.

Addressing members of the Indian diaspora, PM Modi acknowledged their valuable contribution to strengthening relations between India and Indonesia. He said the community has consistently served as a cultural bridge while promoting India’s values, traditions and heritage abroad.

The Prime Minister appreciated the diaspora’s continued commitment to preserving Indian culture while integrating successfully into Indonesian society. He noted that their achievements have enhanced India’s global reputation and reinforced the close people-to-people relationship between the two friendly nations.

PM Modi said the Indian community remains an important pillar of the India-Indonesia partnership. He added that their dedication continues to deepen mutual understanding and expand cooperation across diverse sectors.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed confidence that the historic friendship between the two countries would continue to flourish through stronger cultural exchanges and closer public engagement. He also encouraged members of the diaspora to remain connected with India’s development journey and contribute towards strengthening bilateral ties.

The interaction formed part of PM Modi’s official visit to Indonesia, where he participated in several high-level engagements aimed at strengthening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two nations.

The community programme highlighted the Indian diaspora’s growing role in promoting friendship, cultural understanding and lasting cooperation between India and Indonesia.
